My approach to the counseling process is one that honors and respects your story. My goal is to understand the themes that are present in your story that have hindered your life path. These themes (or patterns) include those that you have played out over and over that have not served you well. My job is to listen for the unconscious communication, whether that be through the stories you tell me or the dreams you share with me, and then translate it in a way that allows you to make sense of your life. By understanding the material that had previously been unconscious to you, you then get to make different choices about the direction of your life. I will assist you as you incorporate these new choices, which will result in the development of new patterns that are more in alignment with who you truly are. Ultimately, you have an opportunity to create a new chapter in your life story that is more positive.
My Responsibility To You
My responsibility is to provide an environment in which you feel safe to explore what brings you to therapy. I provide a place that:
Ensure confidentiality - I will hold private what you share with me.
Is consistent - You will know what to expect from each session; there will be no surprises.
Address the core issues in your life - I will work with you to identify the patterns in your life that are holding you back from moving forward. My goal is to help you work on what really matters most in your life.
Support you - While you open up to your fears, sadness, anxiety, and other feelings, I will address your feelings with the greatest of care and concern.
My practice includes adult men and women of all ages who are facing life transitions such as death, job loss, illness, trauma, relationship and financial problems, and substance use.
Many women I work with have experienced emotional traumas in their childhood that prevent them from moving forward. I also have many female clients who are experiencing concerns about the significant relationships in their lives as well as career-related concerns.
Many of the men who seek my services are experiencing concerns about the progression of their careers and the effects of job dissatisfaction, which impacts other areas of their lives. Men also seek my care who are experiencing significant relationship issues. Often, they are involved in stressful situations, and they don't know how to handle the stress.
